Reporting to the Manager, Enterprise Solutions, this role is integral to our commitment to providing exceptional technical support and ensuring the resilience of our network infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering advanced technical assistance in collaboration with the Senior Systems Analyst
- Network and the Specialist, Security Systems to maintain a secure and efficient network environment.

• Provides technical support and troubleshooting, ensuring high availability and optimal performance of the City's enterprise systems.
• Assists with service patches, system upgrades, and network maintenance tasks, may include after-hours operations.
• Works closely with the Senior Systems Analyst
  - Network to administer the City's network and security infrastructure including researching and proposing strategies for continuous improvement.
• Identifies required updates and efficiently installs and enhances a variety of software products within the City's infrastructure.
• Assists in critical situations, offering timely solutions to digital infrastructure emergencies.
• Conducts system administration duties, including scripting for automation, performance monitoring, and system tuning.
• Provides emergency support outside regular business hours, as required.
• Provides hardware/software support for all IS devices in the City's Infrastructure.
• Assists and provides training for end users as required.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
• All persons employed by the City of Vernon will be required to assist the City in providing emergency services. Duties assigned during an emergency may differ from regular duties.

• Diploma in information technology or equivalent.
• Minimum three years' experience in an advanced technical environment, specifically troubleshooting servers, network infrastructure, critical systems, and addressing infrastructure emergencies. In addition, extensive hardware and software troubleshooting and enterprise virtualization experience is required.
• MCSE or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Valid BC Drivers' License, Class 5.
• A combination of related education and experience may be considered.

• Maintains the City's highest standards of confidentiality and trust.
• Demonstrated analytical knowledge of servers, storage infrastructure and network infrastructure.
• Working knowledge of network peripheral devices.
• Practical knowledge and experience with Windows Server environments, Power Shell, corporate mail systems, firewalls, networking, and Microsoft 365.
• Peripheral troubleshooting, hardware certification from top-tier vendors.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a commitment to teamwork and customer service.
• Works with minimal supervision.
• Ability to obtain and maintain an acceptable Police Information Check.

• Experience with enterprise backup, firewall administration, network Infrastructure, enterprise wireless, virtualization, or Microsoft 365 Administration.
