A well-established Vernon-based law firm is expanding its practice areas and is seeking a senior General Solicitor to help lead this next phase. The firm combines decades of experience with a strong work ethic and a dedication to superior client service. Its core practice includes real estate, estate planning and administration, litigation, and business law, and it is known for delivering reassuring, common-sense legal advice in a welcoming, approachable environment.
TheOpportunity
This is a leadership-oriented role for a lawyer who enjoys both excellent file work and practice-building. You will have a meaningful voice in shaping and growing the firm’s general solicitor services, supported by an established platform, strong administrative support, and a collaborative team.
Key ResponsibilitiesProvide senior-level legal advice across a broad solicitor practice
Independently manage complex files from intake through completion
Draft, review, and negotiate a range of agreements and legal documents
Advise owner-managed businesses on corporate/commercial matters (as needed)
Work closely with colleagues across existing practice areas to deliver integrated solutions
Support the development and growth of the expanding practice area (mentoring, process-building, client development)
Member in good standing with the Law Society of British Columbia
10+ years of post-call experience with strong general solicitor capabilities
Demonstrated strength in one or more of: commercial/corporate, real estate, wills & estates, general solicitor work
Exceptional drafting, negotiation, and practical problem-solving skills
Confident communicator with a client-first approach
Ability to work autonomously while contributing to a collegial team environment
Experience advising entrepreneurs and private companies
Interest in mentoring junior lawyers and contributing to firm growth
Community involvement or a network in the Okanagan/Interior (not required)
