Our Transportation Coordinator is passionate about logistics and global transportation options. With a keen focus on both the customer and the cost, they are a key player when it comes to coordinating and optimizing the movement of product to Tolko’s customers around the globe.
We’re looking for a Transportation Coordinator to join our head office located in Vernon, British Columbia
. Our head office houses Tolko’s corporate services groups including Sales, Marketing & Logistics, Finance, Accounting & Credit, IT, Procurement and Human Resources.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
. - High degree of initiative, accountability, and ownership.
- Curious, adaptable, and eager to continuously learn and improve
. - Experience in transportation, logistics, supply chain, forestry, manufacturing
, or a related industry would be considered an asset. - A diploma, degree, or designation in a related field of study or equivalent experience
. - Proficient with MS Office.
- Superior organizational, analytical, interpersonal, communication and time management skills are required.
- Innovative thinker and a passion for problem solving
. - Ability to operate in a fast‑paced team environment while providing superior service to internal and external customers
. - Use of analytics to provide sound recommendations.
- Success in this role requires curiosity, humility, critical thinking, and a desire to continuously learn and improve.
- Develop and maintain relationships with railroads, trucking companies, reload operators, and other transportation partners.
- Analyze transportation performance, identify cost‑saving opportunities, and develop recommendations that improve supply chain efficiency and customer service
. - Coordinate and manage the movement of several modes of transportation, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of products.
- Act as a liaison between mills, shippers, sales teams, and reload locations to facilitate smooth operations
. - Monitor and optimize car supply, manage rates, and ensure compliance with contracts and regulations.
- Build alternative supply chain solutions that differentiate Tolko and yourself in the marketplace.
- Interface with external stakeholders, including suppliers, carriers, customers, and regulatory agencies.
- Achieve specific budget targets and performance scorecard goals that support the strategic supply chain vision.
- Take on an exciting new challenge with supportive team members
. - Earn a competitive salary based on skills and experience; expected base salary range $60,000–$80,000 per year.
