As Maintenance Supervisor, you will lead maintenance operations, planning, and reliability initiatives while ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective plant performance through the leadership of a multi-disciplinary trades team.
ResponsibilitiesMaintenance Planning & Reliability
Provide technical planning, scheduling, resource allocation, and cost control support for maintenance activities and projects. Develop work sequences, labour requirements, and maintenance cost estimates. Develop and maintain preventive maintenance programs and ensure maintenance schedules are executed effectively. Support continuous improvement initiatives, including proactive maintenance strategies and reliability-centered maintenance practices. Organize and coordinate annual plant shutdown activities.
Leadership & Team ManagementSupervise maintenance tradespeople and provide technical direction to a multi-disciplinary team, including Millwrights and Electricians. Coach, motivate, and support employees to drive engagement, performance, and operational excellence. Identify maintenance challenges and recommend process improvements. Partner with maintenance planning and operational teams to support plant improvements and maintenance execution.
Safety, Quality & ComplianceEnsure compliance with all health and safety, food safety, environmental, and quality standards. Lead departmental safety initiatives and promote a strong safety culture throughout the facility. Ensure contractors comply with all site safety requirements. Support the Food Safety Management System (FSMS) by promoting awareness, competency, compliance, and continuous improvement.
Operations, Budget & Project SupportTrack and support annual maintenance budgets, including labour, production equipment, utilities, property, and building maintenance costs. Support capital expenditure project installations and maintenance-related initiatives. Ensure parts, materials, and external services are available to support operational requirements. Build effective relationships with contractors, equipment manufacturers, vendors, and internal stakeholders. Assist with material procurement as required. Support operational targets across brewing, packaging, logistics, and facility operations through effective maintenance support.
Skills and Qualifications (Required)- Valid trade license, engineering degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 5 years of related maintenance experience.
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience leading multi-disciplinary trades teams within a unionized environment.
- Experience using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
