Overview

Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor & Delivery

Location: Vernon, British Columbia

Shifts: Flexible (Day, Evening, Night, Weekends)

Hours: 80 hours biweekly (Full-time)

Pay Range: $50 CAD – $61 CAD per hour

Contract Duration: 3 months with possible extension

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Labor & Delivery team in Vernon, BC. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional care to mothers and newborns during labor, delivery, and postpartum, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for families.

Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients during labor, delivery, and postpartum.
  • Monitor maternal and fetal health, perform assessments, and respond to emergencies.
  • Assist with deliveries, including vaginal and cesarean sections.
  • Administer medications and pain management interventions as prescribed.
  • Educate and support patients and families on newborn care and postpartum recovery.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to hospital protocols.
Qualifications
  • Current RN license with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in Labor & Delivery or Obstetrics preferred.
  • Certifications

    Required:

    BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • FHS (Fetal Health Surveillance)
  • Perinatal Nursing Certification (preferred)
  • Strong clinical judgment and ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and patient-centered care skills.
