• Provides nursing care to Intensive Care Unit (ICU) patients, both by working independently and as a member of an interdisciplinary team
• Enhances quality of life for the patient and family; consults, confers, and collaborates with other health care providers
• Demonstrates continuous improvement and evidence based practice in nursing practice
• Maintains and advances own clinical competence
• Participates on designated hospital committees/teams and approved research projects as assigned

This is a Casual opportunity. Casual Employees are not guaranteed hours of work and can range from 0-37.5 hours per week on an as-needed basis. Shifts of work will be scheduled days and nights rotating from 07:00 to 19:15, 19:00 to 07:15 .

Our Patient Services Tower has been completed and we have moved into our new Critical Care unit. The floor plan is 4 times the size of the vacated space with room to expand to 16 beds. The new space offers a large, bright working area with wide halls, and lots of storage areas with windows surrounding the whole unit. The new unit was designed to focus on the family unit as a whole being and the new ICU has three family areas;

a waiting room, a quiet room and a family overnight room, the natural light and the private rooms make for a positive experience for patients and family members. Vernon, BC, is a picturesque city in the Okanagan Valley, known for its stunning lakes, outdoor recreation, and vibrant community. Surrounded by Okanagan and Kalamalka Lakes, it offers excellent opportunities for boating, fishing, and winter sports.
