Responsibilities- Assist health care practitioners during examinations or treatments.
- Engage in community program development.
- Monitor patients and advise physician of any changes in patients' condition.
- Participate in community needs assessment.
- Address and document symptoms and changes in patients' conditions.
- Assess patients to identify appropriate nursing interventions.
- Collaborate with members of an interdisciplinary health team to plan, implement, coordinate and evaluate patient care in consultation with patients and their families.
- Conduct disease screening.
- Deliver health education programs.
- Deliver immunization programs.
- Dispense and administer medications and treatments as prescribed by a physician.
- Engage in research activities related to nursing.
- Manage home care cases.
- Provide consultative services regarding issues relevant to nursing profession and nursing practice.
- Provide nursing care.
- Provide supportive counselling and life skills programming.
- Supervise licensed practical nurses and other nursing staff.
- Conduct research.
- Perform administrative tasks.
- Supervise 3-4 people.
- Licensure as a Registered Nurse by provincial or territorial authorities.
- Experience:
7 months to less than 1 year.
