Forestry Technician (Silviculture Surveyor) — Lumby, British Columbia

We’re looking for an experienced Forestry Technician (Silviculture Surveyor) for our Southern Interior Woodlands Division
. This can be a seasonal or permanent position. The Southern Interior Woodlands Team manages Tolko's tenure and fibre supply in the Southern Interior of British Columbia, covering an area of 953,447 hectares. We are dedicated to sustaining these areas to the benefit of all who live and work there.

Qualifications

Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications:

  • Must be a registered Forest Professional of British Columbia (FPBC) and in good standing.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with the FPBC Silviculture Accredited Surveyor (SAS) designation or equivalent experience conducting Regen Delay Surveys and Free Growing Declaration Surveys in BC.
  • Has an unwavering commitment to safety

  • Proven communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
    .
  • Able to work independently and with a team
    .
  • Is physically capable of performing field work at various locations across the Okanagan Timber Supply Area (TSA).
  • A valid driver’s license and experience driving on forestry roads are required.
  • Has experience with block/road layout and cruising is an asset.
  • Has experience with Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), GIS
    , and other computer applications.
