Medical Director – Central Animal Hospital (Vernon)

Salary: $155,000–$180,000 based on experience, plus bonus potential

Are you an experienced veterinarian who is passionate about clinical excellence, mentorship, and team leadership? Central Animal Hospital in beautiful Vernon, BC, is looking for a dedicated Medical Director to join our team and help lead our practice into its next chapter.

This is an exciting opportunity for a veterinarian who wants to continue practicing clinically while taking on a meaningful leadership role. As Medical Director, you’ll help guide medical standards, support the development of the veterinary team, and foster a positive, collaborative environment where both people and patients can thrive.

As Medical Director, you’ll have the opportunity to help shape the medical culture of the hospital while working alongside a supportive team of veterinary professionals.

• Provide high-quality medical, surgical, and preventative care to patients
• Lead and support the veterinary team in maintaining strong medical standards
• Mentor and support DVMs and RVTs, encouraging continued professional growth
• Help foster a positive, collaborative, and inclusive team culture
• Work closely with the Practice Manager and Operations team to support the success of the hospital
• Support clinical decision-making and encourage best practices across the team
• Build strong relationships with clients through communication, education, and compassionate care
• Contribute to ongoing improvements in patient care, team development, and hospital medicine

• DVM degree and eligibility for licensure in British Columbia
• 2+ years of clinical veterinary experience; previous leadership experience is an asset
