Pay Range: $19.15 - $20.15

Sales Associates provide fast, friendly service by actively seeking out customers to assess their needs and provide assistance. They emphasize department and product knowledge, provide information on product features, and are familiar with related items to sell a complete project. Associates greet, engage, and thank every customer in their department and provide basic service in adjacent departments. Primary focus is on customer service and solving customer needs.

• Follow the Home Depot GET Model of customer service (Greeting, Engaging, Thanking)
• Actively seek customers throughout the store and escort them to appropriate merchandise, regardless of department
• Ask open‑ended questions about the customer’s projects to determine their needs and level of expertise
• Promote services such as Special Services, Tool Rental, Pro Desk, and Pro Services
• Discuss available options (good, better, best) and suggest related items/services outside of the department
• Educate customers about the entire project
• Use the empowerment program when necessary to satisfy customers
• Execute daily stock maintenance: all products signed, displayed, and kept clean

• Maintain knowledge of all products in the department and adjacent departments
• Proactively seek knowledge on all products and services

• Follow all safety policies and procedures, and loss‑prevention policies and procedures
• Communicate effectively and maintain a customer‑focus

• Interpersonal skills

• Bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and moving items

• Flexible schedule that may include evenings and weekends
• Warehouse environment that can be dusty and noisy
• Exposed doors, drafts, and interior temperature changes
• High School Diploma or equivalent

• 1 to 2 years of retail or trade experience is an asset
