Position: SPV 15R - Supervisor
About the BCLDB  BC Liquor Distribution Branch (LDB) is a government branch overseeing the beverage alcohol and non‑medical cannabis industries in British Columbia. It is responsible for the wholesale distribution of liquor and cannabis and operates the retail brands BCLIQUOR and BC Cannabis Stores. Revenue generated by the LDB helps fund essential public services such as health care, education, and community programming.
About this role  Reporting to the Senior Store Manager, the Supervisor assists in managing a major retail operation with sales exceeding $8 million. Responsibilities include ensuring excellent customer service, supervising staff, developing teamwork, and maintaining staff morale. The Supervisor may also control stock levels, monitor stock variances, and ensure acceptable security levels for staff and physical assets. The position supports and upholds Branch policies, trains staff, schedules assignments, participates in all store duties, and may be involved in labour relations matters.
Requirements   Secondary (high) school diploma or equivalent certificate.
Minimum six (6) months of recent supervisory experience in a retail or hospitality environment.
Recent experience must be within the last five (5) years and include fostering a customer‑centric selling culture and driving sales.

Experience with store visual presentation.
Preferred qualifications   Experience managing an environment with an annual sales volume over $1 million.
Experience hiring, training, and coaching employees.
Experience managing a team of multiple employees per shift.
Other requirements include a criminal record check and successful completion of Serving It Right™ certification before confirmation of appointment. The role may require lifting liquor cases up to 50 lbs at various heights, standing at a cashier register for extended periods, and performing frequent bending and standing as part of warehouse duties.
