Located on the renowned Black Sage Bench in Oliver, BC, Black Hills Estate Winery is celebrated for producing exceptional, small‑lot wines that showcase the unique terroir of the South Okanagan. We are seeking passionate Wine Educators to provide engaging and educational tasting experiences for our guests. This role is ideal for individuals who love sharing wine knowledge in a fun, approachable way while driving sales and Wine Club memberships. As a key brand ambassador, you will ensure every visitor leaves with a deep appreciation for our wines and winery.
Seasonal Position
: running from mid‑April/May to mid‑October 2026.
- Lead engaging and informative wine tastings, sharing our wines and brand story.
- Provide warm, personalized service, building lasting guest connections.
- Promote Wine Club memberships, exclusive wine experiences, and special events.
- Assist guests with wine selections, packaging purchases, and organizing shipments.
- Achieve individual and team sales goals (daily, weekly, monthly).
- Maintain awareness of daily events, VIP guests, and promotional offerings.
- Create a memorable guest experience that encourages personal and social media referrals.
- Experience in luxury retail, hospitality, or wine service (previous Wine Educator/Tasting Room Associate experience preferred).
- WSET Level 2/3, ISG/CAPS, or CMS certification is an asset.
- Strong knowledge of local BC wines and properties, including our sister estates.
- Excellent communication, listening, and storytelling skills.
- Enthusiasm for wine and the ability to create a fun, engaging guest experience.
- Availability to work a flexible schedule, including days, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada without restriction.
- A mix of indoor and outdoor work, often in warm summer temperatures (up to 40°C).
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs (cases of wine) and stand for extended periods.
- Requires climbing small sets of stairs, bending, and stooping as needed.
- A fast‑paced environment, especially during peak season.
