Liquor Store Associate - PT

Otter Co‑op is now accepting applications for two Part‑Time Liquor Store Associates at our Angry Otter Liquor @ Monashees located in Vernon, BC.

Otter Co‑op is a diverse and growing organization, serving the Lower Mainland, Fraser Valley and BC Interior since 1922. With over 103 years in business and over 600 in our team, we are proud to be a locally owned and community‑minded member of the neighbourhoods we live, work and play in. We operate three food and pharmacy stores (including one with a fashion and hardware department), thirty Angry Otter liquor stores, one feed mill, two bulk petroleum facilities, the Highwayman Pub in Abbotsford, and multiple gas station/convenience stores.

• Provide excellent customer service to guests in a courteous, efficient manner
• Process register transactions, refunds, returns, and activate gift cards
• Ensure register drawer is balanced at the end of shift following company procedures
• Stock, face, and rotate products on the shelves
• Receive, check, and put away deliveries
• Keep store and storage areas clean and organized
• Utilize product knowledge to promote sales
• Contribute to the team in living the Corporate Values of Integrity, Community, and Excellence
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Liquor retail experience is preferred
• Serving It Right license is required
• Enjoy working in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment
• Team player with strong communication skills
• Problem solver and quick learner
• WSET 1 minimum accreditation is required to be obtained within the first year of employment
• Ability to physically lift, push, pull up to 50 lbs on a regular basis and stand for a full 8‑hour shift
• Committed to a SAFE working environment
• Reliable transportation (bus is not always reliable for all shifts)
• Over 19 years of age
• Open availability and able to work a variety of shifts that include mornings, afternoons, and late evenings (closing shifts ending at 10 pm) & weekends
• Position based out of Monashees Liquor Store; occasional travel to other locations may be required

• Competitive wages ($18.25 to $21.15 hourly)
