Family Support Worker

Position: Full-Time Family Support Worker
BGC Okanagan is seeking a dedicated Family Support Worker for the Foster Parent Support Program in Vernon, BC. Provide vital support to families, aiding their skills and connections to community resources.

As a full-time Family Support Worker, you will engage directly with caregivers, offering guidance and empathy while helping them strengthen their family dynamics.

Your role will focus on advocacy, crisis intervention, and skill-building to improve the lives of young people and their families.

Key Responsibilities:

• Gather client information through interviews and observations

• Provide ongoing guidance and support in individual or group settings

• Deliver timely interventions for crisis prevention

• Collaborate in developing and reviewing client service plans

• Facilitate skill-building for clients on parenting and communication

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field

• One year of relevant experience or equivalent

• Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s license

• Successful agency screening including a criminal record check

• Commitment to ethical and inclusive practices
