Make a difference in the lives of Autistic youth with the Canucks Autism Network as a part-time Employment Support Worker. This casual role provides vital support during work placements across the central Okanagan.

As an Employment Support Worker, you will facilitate the CAN-STEP program, guiding 1-3 Autistic participants.

Your role involves adapting job duties to each participant's capabilities, helping them to navigate workplace culture, and fostering independence. Join a dedicated team focused on promoting inclusion and acceptance for individuals on the autism spectrum.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct support to participants during their work placements

• Adapt job duties to match individual capabilities and needs

• Guide participants in workplace interactions and tasks

• Implement strategies for participants’ gradual transition to independence

• Communicate participant progress to the Work Experience Coordinator

Requirements:

• Prior experience with youth having disabilities

• Education in social services or related fields is an asset

• Familiarity with supporting Autistic individuals in jobs

• Valid BC Driver’s license preferred

• Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check needed
