On-Call Bus Driver Position

Become an essential part of School District No. 22 (Vernon) as an on-call Bus Driver. This position requires a BC Class II driver’s license and offers a path to full-time employment.

In this role, you will load and unload students while maintaining a safe environment on the bus. Key responsibilities include conducting cleanliness inspections, completing safety checks before and after trips, and managing student behavior effectively during transport. This is perfect for drivers who excel in interpersonal relationships and exhibit strong judgment in challenging situations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Load and unload students at scheduled stops with care

• Maintain the cleanliness of the bus before and after shifts

• Perform pre/post trip inspections and record results

• Supervise and manage student behavior during transit

• Document all necessary driving records accurately

Requirements:

• Valid BC Provincial Class II driver’s license with air brake endorsement

• Required driver’s abstract to assess record

• Preference for candidates with prior professional driving experience

• Completed Grade 12 education

• Effective communication skills for student interactions
