Responsibilities- Perform testing following R&D engineer protocols, collect and record data, enter test data into Excel and Minitab, organize data, and present observations in reports; set up and tear down test equipment.
- Assist in preparing documentation such as test protocols, reports, work instructions, SOPs, and lab notebooks while complying with GLP, GMP, and quality requirements.
- Review and aid in the development and validation of test methods as a test operator; edit existing methods as needed.
- Maintain test equipment, fixturing, and other lab equipment, including vacuum systems.
- Provide in‑person training on test equipment, methods, lab policies, and safety to other personnel.
- Generate purchase orders for lab supplies, monitor inventory, and coordinate shipping of materials for R&D.
- Support internal/external audits by organizing lab cleanup, labeling, inventory checks, equipment calibration, and communication with R&D about audit timing.
- Honor budget spend requirements and approved supplier procedures.
- Assist manufacturing, quality, regulatory, and R&D in ensuring compliance with internal and external guidelines.
- Support engineers in design/root‑cause analysis and non‑conforming product/complaint investigations.
- Minimum High School Diploma / GED;
Associate of Science in science, math or engineering preferred. - Experience working in a laboratory with GMP, GDP, and GLP; practical knowledge of common laboratory instrumentation.
- Proficiency in MS Windows, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and ability to enter data in Microsoft Project and/or Minitab.
- Experience with physical testing tools and equipment (hand tools, force/torque gauges, balances, digital/analog gauges, Zwick or similar tensile/compression testers).
- Experience executing test method validations.
- Ability to analyze test data, recommend actions, and apply root‑cause and statistical methods.
- Capability to optimize test methods through problem‑solving and critical thinking.
- Technical awareness to read and understand specifications, flowcharts, manual drawings, operation/maintenance manuals, and directions for use.
- Interpretation of statistical analysis reports.
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED;
Associate of Science preferred. - 0–3 years industrial experience in R&D or process development, or related 1–2 years in medical device or regulated FDA/QSR and ISO environments.
Regularly stand, walk, sit; use sight, hands to manipulate tools and office equipment; frequently communicate observations; occasionally reach, stoop, kneel, or crouch during handling and storage tasks. Work may be in open cubicle, team‑oriented, fast‑paced environment; occasionally in simulated use or off‑site susceptibility studies.
