Purpose: As a Lab Technician 2 you will use technical skills and knowledge to support daily test lab activities, equipment qualification, test method validation (TMV) development, and lab engineering projects.

Purpose of Position
  • Reporting to a supervisor/manager, leverage technical expertise to support daily lab functions.
  • Perform bench‑level engineering tests for design verification (DV), stability, feasibility, and test method development (TMD).
  • Work with moderate mentorship while completing assignments.
  • Review test requests to ensure accurate completion.
  • Support lab TMVs and related activities.
  • Develop proficiency in environmental chamber supervision, aging program coordination, equipment maintenance, calibration coordination, test procedure maintenance, tool and fixture design, and EHS requirements.
General Functions, Specific Responsibilities, and Authority
  • Execute moderately complex test requests with minimal assistance.
  • Handle minimally complex problems autonomously.
  • Work proactively to complete projects with minimal oversight.
  • Support equipment qualification (IQ, OQ) and TMV development.
  • Assist TMD and Verification/Validation teams.
  • Troubleshoot inconsistencies between test needs/requests and requestor.
  • Coordinate or lead test requests upon supervisor’s request.
  • Develop one or more lab functions (e.g., environmental chambers, aging program, equipment maintenance, calibration, test procedures, tool and fixture design, EHS representation).
  • Maintain good documentation practice (GDP), good laboratory practice (GLP), and support compliance.
  • Support efforts to create tools for process simplification of testing lab operation.
Knowledge, Education, and Skills Required
  • Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree and minimum of 1 year experience in a regulated industry or laboratory setting.
  • Associate of Applied Science (AAS) and at least 2 years experience in a regulated industry or laboratory setting.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and minimum of 6 years experience in a regulated industry or laboratory environment.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
  • Understanding of Design Control for Verification and Validation testing.
  • Well organized and detail oriented; accurate data collection, record, and reporting.
  • Ability to work in a team.
  • Good understanding of mathematics.
  • Developing technical writing skills and root cause analysis techniques.
  • Familiar with ISO, FDA, OSHA, ASTM standards and regulations.
  • Operating and troubleshooting mechanical test equipment.
  • Developing proficiency in environmental chambers, equipment calibration, and maintenance.
  • Preferred: MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Outlook) and Microsoft Teams.
Physical Demands
  • Standing while performing tasks.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Extended periods of sitting.
Work Environment

Laboratory environment using personal protective equipment (PPE). Potential exposure to chemicals or human body fluids. Minimum 4 days in‑office presence per week unless otherwise specified.
