This position has a base salary range of $40,000.00 - $60,000.00 USD Annual. This range represents the expected base salary range for this position. The actual salary may vary based upon several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience and time in the role.

Summary

This role is responsible for the preparation and processing of loan modification requests for consumer loans. In addition, the Specialist will support the Sr Team Lead, Asset & Loss Mitigation by conducting collection efforts to mitigate risk of loss for the credit union’s $1.3B of portfolio real estate loans. Specialist will assist leadership and support team in building strong financial relationships between BCU and our members by providing high quality customer service and sound debt collection efforts.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Utilize advanced knowledge of subject matter to mitigate loss via phone, email, mail, and interpersonal interactions.
  • Execute loss mitigation strategy as designed by Management.
  • Perform agreed upon quantity and quality of collection activity on assigned accounts. This includes working with members to document financial hardships, prepare modification proposals for management approval, and work with member and other BCU departments to process approved loan modifications, while ensuring compliance with the Collections Policy.
  • Supports the Sr Team Lead, Asset & Loss Mitigation with collection efforts to mitigate risk of loss for the credit union’s portfolio real estate and student loans.
  • Perform thorough account follow up and ensure proper actions, documentation and analysis are being taken to resolve delinquent accounts.
  • Process all incoming and outgoing requests for paper and electronic documents related to consumer loan modifications.
  • Assist the Department in handling inbound calls or other member issues outside of assigned account workload.
  • Adheres to procedures outlined in the Collections Policy, state and federal regulations, and procedural documents.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of five years of business experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of and proficiency with the Internet, Microsoft Windows, and Office.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Strong organization skills, clerical skills, and attention to detail.
  • Must be self-directed and motivated to complete repetitive tasks.
  • Sensitivity to confidential information is required.
