This position has a base salary range of $43,200.00 - $64,800.00 USD Annual. This range represents the expected base salary range for this position. The actual salary may vary based upon several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience and time in the role.

Summary

This role handles the processing of bankruptcy accounts within the BCU loan and credit card portfolios ensuring adequate efforts are performed to increase recovery dollars and mitigate losses. Oversee delinquent account holders within the BCU loan and credit card portfolios ensuring acceptable collection efforts are performed to reduce delinquency and mitigate losses while maintaining excellent member service. Duties include analysis of member credit profiles, referral of accounts for repossession, contact members with outbound calls and handle inbound calls to counsel and/or collaborate on the loan, credit card and share accounts.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for processing filing notifications, proof of claims, reaffirmations, and other account maintenance requests related to bankruptcies.
  • Perform agreed upon quantity and quality of activity on assigned accounts. This includes working with external and internal members in addition to repossession agents, insurance companies and attorneys to resolve delinquency and prevent legal issues. Must perform thorough account follow up and ensure proper actions, documentation and analysis are being taken to resolve allocated accounts.
  • Support management with various projects and process improvement initiatives.
  • Work with the Collections Systems Admin to re-engineer processes and workflows to maximize department efficiency.
  • Adheres to procedures outlined in the Collections Policy, state and federal regulations, and procedural documents.
  • Handle outbound and inbound calls for a portfolio of delinquent account holders within the BCU share, loan, credit card, and/or real estate portfolios ensuring adequate collection efforts are performed to reduce delinquency and mitigate losses while maintaining excellent member service.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years of recent collections experience.
  • A well-developed follow through and sense of urgency.
  • Thorough knowledge of collection laws and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • PC Skills including a solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office is required.
  • Organizational and time management skills.
  • Results oriented while member service and quality focused.
