Therapist - FACE-IT

The Program Therapist provides individual, family, and group therapy to adolescents in a juvenile justice residential setting using a trauma-informed and strengths-based approach. Additionally, the position provides case management services to the adolescents on the assigned caseload and crisis intervention as needed.

Generally, Monday – Friday, 8 hours per day. Some evening and/or weekend hours may be required to meet the needs of youth and their families.

• Work with assigned youth and their families to develop and implement treatment plans.
• Provide individual, family, and group therapy in a juvenile justice residential setting.
• Serve as a member of a multidisciplinary team working together to meet the needs of each youth and their family.
• Provide case management services to youth and their families.
• Provide crisis intervention to youth in detention when needed.
• Conduct evaluations of potential clients regarding their appropriateness for participation in the residential program.
• Seek out and attend professional conferences and training workshops for personal development.
• All other duties as assigned.

• Experience providing direct services including individual therapy, group therapy, and family-focused treatment is required.
• Experience with youth involved in the juvenile justice system and/or residential treatment programs is preferred.
• Must be able to work independently and develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with residential program staff.
• Proficient with Microsoft software including Word, Outlook, and Teams.
• Demonstrates competent written and verbal communication.

• You must possess a master’s degree in social work, psychology, or a related field.
• Candidates must be a U.S. citizen and live in Illinois at time of hiring or within six months of employment.
• Candidates for this position must be certified by the Administrative Office of the Illinois Courts (AOIC). The required form is Employment | Probation/Court Services.
• Candidates must obtain clinical licensure (Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, Licensed Clinical Psychologist) within one year.
• Preferably bilingual (Spanish-speaking).

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds as needed.
• Moderate ability to operate office equipment.
