Calibration Technician
OverviewActalent seeks a dedicated Calibration Technician to perform calibrations, inspections, and measurements on test equipment to ensure measurement accuracy. The role involves using assigned calibration standards and procedures while documenting all calibration events in our database. Ideal candidates have experience in calibration or metrology within life sciences, medical device, or similar labs.
Responsibilities- Perform calibrations, inspections, and measurements on test equipment to ensure measurement accuracy.
- Use assigned calibration standards and procedures.
- Document all aspects of calibration events in the database.
- Evaluate contracts and work orders to ensure all work can be properly completed.
- Assist customers with traceability or procedural questions in calibrations and resolve technical contract issues.
- Develop and maintain preventative maintenance and laboratory safety/housekeeping programs.
- Quantify sources of measurement error and determine measurement uncertainty.
- Aid in the setup of processes and paperwork related to calibration.
- Complete administrative tasks related to incoming calibrations as necessary.
- Perform minor repairs as necessary.
- Prepare certificates and IM&TE for packaging.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in ISO, Calibration, Metrology, FDA compliance.
- High School Diploma or Associate’s Degree in a scientific related field.
- 2-5 years of experience in calibration or metrology within life sciences, medical devices, or similar labs.
- Familiarity with FDA, ISO, and GMP compliance.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
The schedule is Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. The environment involves working with calibration equipment and adhering to safety and compliance standards.
Job Type & LocationContract to Hire position based out of Vernon Hills, IL.
Pay & BenefitsPay range $22.00 - $32.00/hr benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance, disability, transportation, and PTO.
