Are you ready to get in the game?

This is a hybrid role, with the expectation that you will work from our Vernon Hills, Illinois office three days a week.

The right candidate will play a critical role as part of a fast-moving design team delivering innovative system software that is the heart of our revolutionary video casino games. They’ll bring a passion for software development, a sharp mind for solving complex problems, and a drive to build scalable, long-term solutions.

• Collaborate with QA, Field Service, Operations, and other teams to diagnose and resolve technical issues
• Maintain and enhance existing codebases while ensuring backward compatibility
• Design and implement reusable system software components (libraries, APIs, abstraction layers)
• Write robust, high-performance code with a focus on maintainability
• Communicate progress clearly and honestly to department leaders and stakeholders

• A self-motivated, creative problem solver who thrives in a team setting
• Strong communication skills and a helpful, organized mindset
• Exceptional debugging and diagnostic abilities
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of object-oriented development experience (Java preferred)

• Proficiency in Java and web development
• Experience with multi-threaded programming
• Solid understanding of database design and performance optimization
• Knowledge of common design patterns and idioms
• Understanding of secure coding practices such as SEI Cert
• Familiarity with version control systems (Perforce preferred)

• C# and SQL development experience
• Experience with virtualization platforms like VMWare
