Senior Project Manager- Utilities Electrical
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager
- Utilities Electrical to lead the utility electrical infrastructure and high-voltage substation scope for a large-scale data center project in Vernon, TX. This is a full-time, onsite role responsible for managing all phases of project delivery, from design and procurement through construction, commissioning, energization, and closeout.
- Lead delivery of utility electrical and high-voltage substation projects from planning through turnover.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, forecasts, contracts, procurement, and risk mitigation.
- Act as the primary liaison between utility providers, contractors, engineers, vendors, and site leadership.
- Oversee construction, QA/QC, testing, commissioning, and energization activities.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, electrical codes, and project requirements.
- Lead multidisciplinary teams to achieve project goals related to safety, quality, schedule, and cost.
- Serve as the Owner's Representative for the utility electrical and substation package.
- Lead coordination between utility providers, contractors, engineers, vendors, commissioning teams, and data center stakeholders.
- Oversee utility interconnections, substations, transformers, switch gear, protection and controls, SCADA, grounding, and power distribution systems.
- Manage energization planning, testing, commissioning, and turnover of mission-critical power infrastructure.
- Focus on utility and substation construction rather than building-level electrical systems.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- 12+ years of project management experience with electrical infrastructure or power delivery projects.
- Experience delivering utility substations, high-voltage infrastructure, utility interconnections, transmission/distribution systems, or mission-critical power projects.
- Proven experience managing projects exceeding $50M.
- Strong knowledge of substations, transformers, switch gear, breakers, protection and controls, grounding systems, cable systems, and energization.
- Ability to interpret single-line diagrams, electrical drawings, specifications, and commissioning procedures.
- Experience with electrical QA/QC, testing, commissioning, turnover, and energization planning.
- Proficiency with Procore, Primavera P6, MS Project, and Microsoft Office.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience with hyperscale data centers, utility, industrial, or mission-critical construction projects.
- PMP and/or PE certification.
- Previous experience serving as an Owner's Representative on large-scale electrical utility or substation projects.
- Experience leading utility interconnections, switching coordination, and substation energization activities.
