Attendants provide services planned to maintain, strengthen, and safeguard the client in his/her own home environment. Provides care in accordance with the specified plan of care for client. Gloves, mask and sanitizer are provided.

Paid weekly.

Overview:
Become part of the At Home Healthcare team and provide compassionate, client-centered home care to pediatric and community care patients, within the comfort of home.

Responsibilities
  • Assists client in the activities of daily living including personal hygiene requirements in accordance with specific assignments provided by supervisor.
  • Supervises client during activities to enable client to function safely.
  • Maintains compliance with all At Home Health policies, procedures and guidelines as stated now or as amended; complies with all applicable state and federal laws and regulatory requirements.
  • Immediately reports to supervisor any significant changes in the client’s environment, behaviors, or circumstances.
  • Monitors the client’s environment for potential safety hazards and takes action to eliminate hazards or reports them to the supervisor.
Qualifications
  • Requires a pleasant and cheerful demeanor, with a helpful attitude even in stressful situations.
  • Ability to effectively carry out duties with cooperation, and to encourage, mentor, and support fellow workers on a daily basis.
  • Personal assistance services, as defined in TAC 40 Chapter 97; may be performed by an unlicensed person who is at least 18 years of age and has demonstrated competency when competency cannot be determined through education and experience, to perform tasks by the supervisor.
  • Competency determined by orientation checklist and related training.
  • Requires ability to understand and follow detailed oral and written instructions.
  • Completes and/or meets required training requirements.
  • Requires ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally, up to 20 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds continuously to move objects and/or people.
  • Position requires bending, stooping, twisting, turning, reaching, lifting, carrying, pulling, pushing, climbing, kneeling, walking, and standing more than 75% of shift; sitting ~25%, standing ~55%, walking ~20%.
  • Requires ability to recognize changes in sounds and respond appropriately.
  • Demonstrates patience, tact, initiative, judgment, and confidentiality in line with established guidelines.
  • Works under minimal supervision with awareness that errors may have serious consequences.
  • Ability to recognize changes in a client’s appearance, attitude, and condition.
