Digs Site Work is hiring a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to support our field operations team. This full-time position is ideal for an experienced operator who can confidently run various types of site equipment, read site grades, follow spotter signals, and interpret construction plans. Key ResponsibilitiesSafely and efficiently operate various site equipment such as excavators, dozers, backhoes, loaders, and skid steers
Read and interpret grade stakes and blueprints to ensure accurate excavation and site prep
Follow spotter signals and site supervisor instructions with attention to safety and accuracy
Conduct daily equipment inspections and maintenance checks
Assist with loading/unloading materials and job site setup
Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas
Communicate clearly with crew members and supervisors on progress and any issues
Comply with OSHA safety standards and company safety procedures at all times
QualificationsMinimum of 3 years’ experience operating a variety of heavy construction equipment
Strong understanding of grades, excavation layouts, and safe equipment operation
Ability to read and interpret construction plans, spotter signals, and grade stakes
OSHA Certification required
High school diploma or GED preferred
Dependable, safety‑minded, and able to work independently or as part of a crew
Willingness to travel to various project sites as needed
Pass a background check and drug screening
