We deliver high-quality, trusted content with a commitment to balanced, unbiased journalism.
- Produce an average of 1 video and 2-3 quick-hit articles per day focused on the hottest topic of the day, tying state and national trending topics back to the Treasure Coast.
- Create and post videos on TCPalm, Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok and other social media platforms.
- Develop coverage based on Google Trends, social media and USA Today Co.’s in-house analytics.
- Own SEO strategy for content.
- Collaborate proactively with everyone in the TCPalm newsroom, Florida network, and USA Today corporation.
- Work hours typically 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday–Friday, with flexibility as needed.
- Bachelor’s or master’s in communications, journalism or a related field.
- Experience in a digital-first newsroom preferred.
- Strong skills in spelling, grammar, punctuation, AP style, communication, news judgment, SEO headline writing.
- Ability to produce photos and videos on a smartphone.
- Ability to produce maps, charts, timelines and other graphics on in-house platforms.
- Proficiency on all social media platforms, especially Tik Tok.
- Comfortable branding yourself and promoting your content.
- Ability to multitask under deadline pressure and work efficiently and collaboratively.
- Understanding of how digital analytics inform coverage and willingness to adjust based on performance.
- Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and minimum state-required liability insurance.
