Knowledge of child growth and development, especially characteristics of students/children in the assigned age group. Knowledge of prescribed curriculum. Basic understanding of current technology. Knowledge of learning styles and proficiency in using varied teaching methods. Awareness of current trends, research, and best practices in education. Ability to handle problems, concerns, and emotional distress with sensitivity and tact. Effective oral and written communication skills with students, parents, and colleagues.
Ability to plan, prioritize, and implement activities for maximum effectiveness. Skill in assessing student achievement, analyzing test results, and prescribing improvement actions. Ability to maintain a safe and orderly learning environment through appropriate supervision. Ability to collaborate effectively with peers, administrators, and others. Knowledge of Florida Educator Accomplished Practices and Teacher Competencies.
Job Summary: To provide an educational experience that equips students with knowledge and skills for a career in a technical field.
Qualifications:
1. District certification in the appropriate area - issued upon hire
2. Accreditation in the appropriate field if required by the program
3. Experience in the relevant field
4. Satisfactory criminal background check and drug screening
