• Has been approved to volunteer and completes fingerprinting through the FDLE and FBI after being accepted for a coaching role.
• Meets the specialization requirements for the Athletic Coaching Endorsement (Rule 6A-4.0282), which include:
• Three (3) semester hours in Care and Prevention of Athletic Injuries and the effects and dangers of drug use, including performance-enhancing drugs.
• Three (3) semester hours in coaching theory.
• Three (3) semester hours in theory and practice of coaching a specific sport.
• A valid CPR certificate from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• First Aid certification, including training in the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
• Has been approved for employment and completed fingerprinting (FDLE/FBI), with results no older than one year.

Orientation includes the following fee: $118.00, payable by credit or debit card only at time of service using Visa, Mastercard or American Express. Discover is not accepted.

You may not begin employment until the orientation is complete and Human Resources has given final clearance.

All coaches who do not hold a valid Florida Educator's Certificate are required to obtain either a Three-Year or Five-Year Florida Athletic Coaching Certificate

Three-Year Athletic Coaching Certificate

• One-time, nonrenewable three-year certificate in Athletic Coaching may be issued to an individual who:
• Submits an application and the current processing fee of $75.00 with the Florida Department of Education.
• Has been approved to volunteer and completes fingerprinting through the FDLE and FBI after being accepted for a coaching role.

Five-Year Athletic Coaching Certificate

• May be issued to an individual who:
• Submits an application and the current processing fee of $75.00 with the Florida Department of Education.
• Meets the specialization requirements (see above).
