So what exactly is a Night Auditor?

A Night Auditor is responsible for recording and keeping hotel logistical information up to date. They also help prepare reports for the following day shift (like guest check-out final statements) and help guest with any inquiries or checking in the nighttime.

As our Night Auditor, here is an example of what your specific responsibilities would be.

• Provide professional and courteous guest service at all times
• Answertelephone calls according to POP*
• Ensure every guest receive a Trip Advisor card and solicit for a glowing review according to POP
• Complete the 10-5 rule with everyone that enters the hotel according to POP
• Register and assignrooms to guests
• Answerinquiries pertaining to hotel services, registration of guests, shopping, dining, entertainment and travel direction
• Check the maintenance list to in ensure rooms that are rent-ready are removed from the list every shift
• Keep records of room availability and guests’ accounts
• Maintainwake-up call service daily
• Runnightly reports ensuring daily financials balance according to property’s POP
• Postcharges correctly to guest folios as needed
• Promote any current hotel and franchise marketing programs
• Maintain workspace and storage areas to be neat and clean
• Completedaily cash deposit log
• Complete and sign off on the daily checklist (before clocking out at shift's end)
• Serveas Manager on Duty
• Respondto and assists guests in the event of an emergency
• Prepare for, attends, and contributes to the weekly department meetings
• Deal with all problems with a high degree of professionalism, courtesy and consideration

It may seem simple, but the Night Auditor is a crucial part of a hotel's operational success. With your help, the day shift will be able to operate smoothly and with minimal to no complication over guest/financial reporting tasks.
