Position: WELDER $18.72hr+/pending experience

Summary

Individual brings significant steel welding and fitting experience to specialty tower manufacturing company. Positioning and connecting various steel parts by hand, use of torch, grinders, saws, drills, and related equipment is essential. Inspects and assures parts comply with drawing specifications. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Set up equipment, cuts and welds parts using gas‑shielded arc and gas cutting equipment. Cleans weld spatter and metal finishes parts as required.
• Lay out, position, align, and fit components together. Bolts, clamps, fixtures, and tack‑welds parts to secure in position for welding.
• Repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts.
• Operate hand drills, drill presses, hand grinders, band saw and air tools.
• Unload incoming shipments delivered to their point of use at assembly.
• Visually inspect outer packaging and inner contents for damage, refusing damaged goods. Count, weigh, and measure parts and materials and compare quantity, description, and part numbers to the packing slip. Deliver paperwork to the shop office. Store materials appropriately.
• Clean work area.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Education And/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED);
Minimum three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
