Systems Support Specialist

The Environmental Learning Center (ELC) is a nonprofit nature center fostering environmental education on a 64‑acre campus in Vero Beach, FL. ELC offers diverse programming, including eco‑tours, nature walks, camps, community events, and volunteer opportunities.

Position Overview

ELC is a dynamic, fast‑paced organization that is always bustling and never boring! We are seeking a dedicated professional looking for a long‑term employment opportunity. This role combines database management, administrative support, and technical assistance across multiple departments. Responsibilities include maintaining databases, processing memberships and donations, managing Point of Sale (POS) and online registration systems, and providing IT support. Additional tasks involve assisting with guest services, finance, operations, education, and development as needed.

This is a full‑time position with benefits including PTO, paid holidays, health insurance, and a retirement plan matching contributions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Database & Membership Management: Maintain and update CRM database, generate reports and manipulate data in Excel, track memberships and renewals, process gifts and acknowledgments.
  • Point of Sale & Registration: Load and maintain products (e.g., inventory, tours, camps, events) in the POS, and online booking and registration system.
  • Administrative & IT Support: Assist with mailings, filing, scanning, call lists, newsletters, and IT troubleshooting.
  • Guest Services & Operations: Provide front desk support, assist with volunteer coordination, rentals, gift shop inventory, and visitor inquiries.
  • Event & Outreach Support: Help coordinate community events, fundraising initiatives, and outreach booths.
  • Finance & Reporting: Assist with data entry, dashboard updates, and financial records.
Requirements
  • Strong IT skills and proficiency in Office products (especially Excel), Google Suite, and CRM databases.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and data entry skills.
  • Ability to multitask across various departments.
  • Availability for occasional evening and weekend events.
  • Background check required. Equal opportunity employer.

Compensation

$18–$20 per hour, based on experience and skills.
