Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) night shift position, requiring a FL or compact RN license and strong Epic and cardiac drip skills.
Responsibilities- Work in the Progressive Care Unit of a teaching hospital with 332 staffed beds
- Night shift schedule consists of 3x12 hour shifts, 19:00 to 7:30
- Patient population primarily consists of progressive care and step-down patients
- Requires floating to all associated hospitals within 20 miles as needed
- Use of Epic electronic medical record (EMR) system is required, with proficiency level 3 or 4
- No block scheduling available
- Provide specialized nursing care to progressive care and step-down patients, including management of cardiac drips
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- All time off requests must be submitted up front; additional requests after submission will not be approved
- White scrubs are required for this assignment
- Two supervisory references are required for consideration
- Candidates who have worked as permanent or per diem staff in this health system must wait one year before being eligible to return
- Free parking is available in any unrestricted space
- Study materials for EKG and pharmacology testing are provided during orientation
- Active FL or compact RN license required
- AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required at time of consideration; NIHSS must be obtained prior to start
- Minimum 2 years of recent PCU experience required, with ICU background needed
- Experience with Epic EMR and proficiency with cardiac drips required
- Pending license status accepted
- All candidates must be nicotine free and able to provide a negative 10-panel drug screen including nicotine
- EKG and pharmacology tests required during orientation with a maximum of two attempts each
