Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Stepdown/PCU night shift position, requiring 2 years of PCU and ICU experience with Epic proficiency.
Responsibilities- Work in a hospital Stepdown/Progressive Care Unit (PCU) within a teaching environment
- Patient population includes cardiac and higher-acuity stepdown cases
- Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30
- Floating required to three locations within 20 miles as needed
- Uses Epic EMR; strong proficiency (level 3-4) required
- Responsibilities include caring for PCU/stepdown patients with emphasis on cardiac monitoring and managing cardiac drips
- All time off requests must be submitted upfront; additional RTO may not be approved
- Strict white scrub dress code enforced
- Free parking available in any unrestricted space
- First-time travelers are accepted
- Assignments at any affiliated location may not exceed 18 consecutive months, with a mandatory 6-month wait for re-assignment
- Negative smoke/nicotine status is required for all employees
- Required to complete time-sensitive onboarding modules promptly upon assignment confirmation
- Holiday and weekend coverage may be required per unit needs
- Active FL or Compact RN license (pending accepted)
- Minimum 2 years of recent PCU experience and ICU experience required
- Certifications:
AHA BLS and ACLS required at time of consideration, NIHSS required prior to start - Experience with cardiac drips required
- All travelers must be nicotine free and pass a 10-panel plus nicotine (cotinine) drug screen within 12 months of start
- EKG and pharmacology tests required during orientation, with a maximum of two attempts for each
- No license hits accepted
