FAR Inspections is looking for highly motivated individuals to perform residential occupancy verifications on behalf of mortgage lenders. Independent contractors earn predictable full‑time or supplemental income and enjoy a flexible schedule. Experience with mortgage field inspections is not required, but an ability to effectively manage time and meet deadlines is crucial. Based in Reno, NV, FAR Inspections has been in business for over 9 years.

What is an Occupancy Verification? The purpose of the property inspection is to verify property occupancy and report on the general condition of the property using a mobile application. Most inspections are exterior only and take about 5‑6 minutes, with about 10% requiring interior photos after the property has gone vacant.

• Complete most common type of inspection in 5‑6 minutes.
• Submit the inspection within 4 days after assignment.
• Report general property conditions and determine occupancy based on industry standards.
• Take 9+ photos of the property with brief comments.
• Complete a short form in the app.
• Spend extended periods driving while making numerous stops during the day in the assigned territory.

• Computer with an internet connection.
• Reliable vehicle (good gas mileage is a plus, as you will be paying for your own gas).
• Smartphone (Android or iPhone).
• Printer.
• Pass a standard background check using a valid driver’s license.

This is a 1099 position. Each inspection has a flat rate that varies based on county and volume. Although you are paid per inspection, you will earn the equivalent of $30‑$40 per hour. Depending on the county and whether it is urban or rural you may complete anywhere from 20‑500 inspections per month, working 2‑30 hours per week. There is no set minimum;

the work is consistent month‑to‑month. Earn more as you become established, are available for more inspections, or cover a larger territory. No additional mileage reimbursement beyond the flat fee per inspection.
