Construction Manager - Generation

Overview

Power your future with Qualus as a Construction Manager in our Construction Management department. This role will be responsible for field construction oversight of power generation projects.

• Manages and inspects the day-to-day activities of multiple contractor crews simultaneously.
• Facilitates the replacement and/or installation of electric infrastructure equipment and ensures that all safety standards, company construction standards, company specifications, and governmental regulations are met.
• Work with all stakeholders including third party consultants, contractors, and client management to maintain construction schedules, ensure work is completed on time and within budget, and per company standards.
• Makes the proper notification to all federal, state and local agencies before, during and after construction as required.
• Prior to commencement of construction, coordinates with customer(s) at the jobsite to determine specific customer requirements, construction sequencing and provides site readiness verification.
• Maintains frequent and regular contact with contractor supervision regarding job performance and documents results appropriately.
• Ensures that the terms and conditions of the contract and technical specifications are met.
• Makes the necessary field decisions regarding job changes and communicates them as necessary to the Supervisor and Program or Project Manager; documents all job changes to ensure compliance and ensures the updates get documented in the appropriate information technology systems.
• Regularly communicates job status to the appropriate parties to facilitate scheduling commitments.
• Maintains customer coordination during construction phase and conducts job walk-down with customer and contractor at job completion.
• Performs storm duty assignments as needed.
• Reports to service center, jobsite, or remote location.
• Lead all Environmental Health and Safety (HSA) activities and reporting.
• Monitoring the safety, environmental, and quality management of the work.
• Represent client in the field and coordinating with the EPC contractor to ensure construction and commissioning work is performed in accordance with project documents, codes, and good industry practice.
• Review engineering drawings.
• Lead meetings with the project team and EPC.
• Provide input to daily/weekly/monthly reports.
• Manage and resolve issues and non-conformances.
• Support and drive issue resolution and lessons learned.
• Act as the client’s quality assurance and perform routine audits of the EPC QA/QC program, document and provide reports.
• Document findings in the field through field observation reports.
• Lead system turnover walkdowns and verification.
• Provide input to Entergy’s Project Controls in project quantity tracking and progress reporting.

• Field Construction oversight experience
• Strong communication, management background, ability to stop work when needed.
• Safety focused.
• OSHA 30 Certification.

The expected compensation range for this position is based upon several factors, including but not limited to education, qualifications, prior relevant work experience and work location.
