Position: General Labourer for Public Works
The City of Victoria seeks a General Labourer to support various Public Works projects. Work will involve manual tasks, heavy lifting, and using hand tools across parks and road maintenance.

This auxiliary position requires flexibility with work schedules from Monday to Sunday, up to 40 hours weekly, and is part of CUPE Local 50. Candidates should have at least six months of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Key duties will include working on concrete construction, maintaining parks, and collecting refuse for households and businesses.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform manual tasks for public works and maintenance

• Operate hand tools for construction and maintenance

• Water, mow, and weed grass and garden areas

• Load and unload waste materials effectively

• Assist excavation operators to dig for utilities

Requirements:

• Grade 10 education minimum

• Six months of related work experience

• Ability to handle physical labor consistently

• Capable of working outdoors in all weather

• Willing to adapt to varying work schedules
