Overview

The Conseil scolaire francophone de la Colombie-Britannique (CSF) is the only public French‑language school board in the province, committed to providing high‑quality French‑first‑language education to all eligible students. Established in 1995, the CSF serves approximately 40 schools across British Columbia, from Victoria to Prince George. The board promotes the French language and culture in a minority setting and partners with local and national Francophone organizations to support linguistic and cultural vitality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee day‑to‑day operations of the school, including staff management, financial administration, facilities maintenance, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Create caring and positive relationships with students, staff, and parents, celebrating their diversity.
  • Uphold CSF values, the BC Ministry of Education, and Provincial professional codes.
  • Implement Indigenous learning principles, teach Indigenous history with an emphasis on reconciliation.
  • Develop an inclusive, safe, engaging learning environment that promotes the well‑being of all students.
  • Engage parents/guardians and community members through proactive and compassionate communication.
  • Pursue continuous professional development to stay current with evidence‑based research and best practices.
  • Promote linguistic and cultural diversity, fostering a strong sense of belonging and the growth of the Francophone community.
Required Qualifications
  • Graduate degree (master’s level) in educational administration or education, or a specialization in education related to leadership.
  • Valid teaching certificate issued by the British Columbia Teacher Certification Branch (TCB).
  • Minimum of five (5) years of teaching experience at the elementary and/or secondary level in a minority Francophone setting.
  • Excellent knowledge of curriculum, pedagogical and assessment practices and their impact on student development and engagement.
  • Proficiency in French and English, orally and in writing.
