GENERAL STATEMENT  This is an entry-level, short-duration position that is closely supervised. Assists the Center staff in providing daily care and education for infant, toddler or preschool aged children. Is supervised by and is accountable to the Senior Educator on a daily basis, and beyond that the Manager of Child Care Services.
TYPICAL DUTIES   Supports educators in the provision of high quality care for young children. This includes providing a stimulating environment for the physical, intellectual, language, emotional and social development of each child in the centre;
Supports educators in the delivery of developmentally appropriate activities for children in the centre under the guidance of the Senior Educator;
Supports educators in housekeeping and maintenance of the centre ensuring that health and safety standards are met including cleaning the center, equipment, supplies and following centre protocol on preparation of food, handwashing, illnesses, etc;
Performs other related duties similar in scope and complexity.
Qualifications
An ECE certificate or equivalent educational experience(s) plus three months experience working with children. Must be able to clear a criminal record check as required by the BC Community Care Child Care Licensing Branch and be a minimum of 19 years old.
