Job Summary
Student Affairs at the University of Victoria helps to transforms students’ lives by supporting and inspiring the highest standards of student learning and success, community engagement and staff development. The Division is comprised of over 30 reporting units in six departments:
Athletics and Recreation, Campus Services, Indigenous Affairs, Office of the Registrar, Student Recruitment and Global Engagement, and Student Services. The comprehensive and integrated range of services we provide make Student Affairs one of the most dynamic and diverse divisions on campus. Together, we support UVic’s vision “to be a university of choice for outstanding students, faculty, and staff from BC, Canada, and around the world.”

This role is responsible for ensuring that accommodated examinations are carried out in accordance with University of Victoria regulations, and to provide students with a positive and supportive exam experience.

Job Requirements

Experience:

Must have previous experience in a similar position, preferably in a post-secondary, exam environment, or institutional environment or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Preference will be given to applicants with:

Familiarity with UVic services and programs

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Demonstrated service excellence to students and others

Excellent organizational skills including attention to detail, time management, and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to work effectively independently and within a team environment, as well as the larger UVic community.

Ability to work with a diverse group of students, faculty and staff, often in the context of emotional distress and/or crisis

Experience in effectively maintaining the confidentiality of highly personal and sensitive information

Ability to exercise initiative, active listening skills, good judgement, tact, and diplomacy

Ability to meet standards of confidentiality and academic integrity

Ability to respond to situations of emotional/health distress or crisis, without on-site supervision. When required, escape to Supervisor, Exam Services or other campus supports (i.e. counselling services, campus security)

Advanced proficiency with computer applications (i.e. MS-Office Suite, Adobe Create Suite, content management systems).

Experience working with a variety of adaptive technology such as Kurzweil and Dragon is an asset

Specialized Knowledge/Education
Secondary school graduation or equivalent.
