Job Description The Victoria Masjid, part of the BC Muslim Association, seeks a full-time Imam to serve as the primary religious, spiritual, and pastoral leader for the Muslim community in Victoria, British Columbia.
* * Role Overview:
* * The Imam will lead congregational prayers, provide spiritual guidance, and coordinate Islamic educational and community programs.

* Key Responsibilities:

* ** Lead all five daily prayers (Salat) and Friday Jumu'ah services
* Develop and deliver Islamic education programs for youth and children
* Organize and facilitate Islamic lectures, study circles (halaqas), and community workshops
* Provide pastoral counselling and spiritual guidance to congregation members
* Conduct da'wah (Islamic outreach) and interfaith engagement activities
* Perform marriage ceremonies (Nikah)
* Guide the youth and broader community on matters of Islamic faith and practice

* Required Qualifications:

* ** Bachelor's degree or higher in Islamic Studies from an accredited Islamic institution
* Minimum 5 years of experience as an Imam or Islamic educator
* Sunni Muslim
* Fluent in English and Arabic
* Strong grasp of Quranic sciences, Tajweed (proper recitation), Sunnah, and Islamic jurisprudence (Fiqh)
* Hafiz of the Quran (preferred)
* Computer literacy
* Demonstrated ability to lead and guide a culturally diverse Muslim community in a Canadian context
* Eligible to work in Canada
* * Employment Details:
* ** Full-time position, 40 hours per week with flexible scheduling
