The Victoria Masjid, part of the BC Muslim Association, seeks a full-time Imam to serve as the primary religious, spiritual, and pastoral leader for the Muslim community in Victoria, British Columbia.

Role Overview :
The Imam will lead congregational prayers, provide spiritual guidance, and coordinate Islamic educational and community programs.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead all five daily prayers (Salat) and Friday Jumu'ah services Develop and deliver Islamic education programs for youth and children Organize and facilitate Islamic lectures, study circles (halaqas), and community workshops Provide pastoral counselling and spiritual guidance to congregation members Conduct da'wah (Islamic outreach) and interfaith engagement activities Perform marriage ceremonies (Nikah) Guide the youth and broader community on matters of Islamic faith and practice

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or higher in Islamic Studies from an accredited Islamic institution Minimum 5 years of experience as an Imam or Islamic educator Sunni Muslim Fluent in English and Arabic Strong grasp of Quranic sciences, Tajweed (proper recitation), Sunnah, and Islamic jurisprudence (Fiqh) Hafiz of the Quran (preferred) Computer literacy Demonstrated ability to lead and guide a culturally diverse Muslim community in a Canadian context Eligible to work in Canada Employment Details:
