You will collect, manage, and interpret hydrometric and environmental data while supporting hydrologic assessments, modeling, reporting, and permitting efforts. You will work alongside experienced hydrologists, technicians, and engineers who will mentor you as you grow in your career. If you enjoy both analytical work and hands‑on fieldwork in beautiful, remote environments, this role is for you.
The successful candidate can be in Burnaby or Sidney, British Columbia but preferences will be given to those who reside in Whitehorse, Yukon.
YourKey Responsibilities

- Support the preparation of proposals and other project documentation.
- A basic understanding of the general concepts of hydrology and surface water processes.
- Experience with data analysis, Excel, and GIS (ArcGIS/QGIS).
- Experience with Aquarius, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, R, MATLAB, or programming is an asset, not a requirement.
- Familiarity with hydrometric equipment.
- Ability to manage time to meet project schedules and budgets.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Possess a valid Class 5 driver’s license (or equivalent) and be willing to travel within BC and Canada to remote locations as required. Comfortable driving long distances, remote roads, and in variable conditions.
- Experience with geospatial databases, big‑data management, statistical analyses, advanced programming, and/or water quality is considered an asset.
- Bachelor’s degree in hydrology, environmental science, earth science, water resources, civil engineering, or a related field; or a technical diploma with hydrology/hydro metrics experience.
- Minimum 2 years of related industry experience.
- Registration, or eligibility for registration, with EGBC as an EIT/GIT or with ASTTBC as an AScT is considered an asset.
- Valid safety training certificates relevant to fieldwork are an asset.
- Previous hydrometric, environmental monitoring, or field‑based data collection experience is an asset.
Typical office environment involves working with computers and remaining relatively sedentary.
