Marine Mechanical Technician

Become a Marine Systems Mechanical Technician, operating systems on His Majesty’s Canadian Ships. Engage in hands-on mechanical work and emergency response at sea and ashore.

Join the engineering team, responsible for the maintenance and repair of critical systems onboard HMC Ships and Submarines. Your efforts will focus on propulsion, power, environmental control, and more. As an MSMT, you’ll work with engines, pumps, and auxiliary machinery while developing essential mechanical and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain ship propulsion systems

• Repair power generation and mechanical support equipment

• Inspect fuel and fluid systems for optimal function

• Engage in damage control and firefighting tasks

• Participate in ship-wide operations during deployments

Requirements:

• Completion of Grade 10 with math and science

• Hands-on experience with mechanical systems

• Ability to work at sea in shifts

• Problem-solving skills necessary for emergent repairs

• Willingness to assist in general duties when required
