Position: Shipboard Mechanical Technician - Full Time

Become a Marine Systems Mechanical Technician for His Majesty’s Canadian Ships. Drive maintenance and repair of mechanical systems, ensuring mission readiness both at sea and ashore.

Your primary focus as an MSMT will be the operating, maintaining, and repairing of crucial ship systems. You will work closely with engineers on engines, pumps, and various auxiliary machinery. A strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills will be vital for emergency scenarios.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate ship’s propulsion and engine systems

• Conduct repairs on power generation equipment

• Inspect and maintain fuel and lubrication systems

• Assist in firefighting and damage control operations

• Collaborate during ship-wide evolutions when necessary

Requirements:

• Minimum Grade 10 education with math and science

• Mechanical system knowledge and hands-on skills

• Willingness to adapt to shipboard life and watch schedules

• Strong troubleshooting capabilities for mechanical issues

• Availability for general tasks outside main duties
