Lead maritime navigation expertise at BMT in Victoria, supporting simulation-based ship handling, bridge operations, and technically credible outcomes.
As a Senior Navigation Specialist, you will advise simulation activities involving navigation, bridge operations, and ship handling. The permanent, full-time role supports realistic, safe, and operationally credible services. Apply ship handling knowledge, electronic navigation systems, analytical skills, and bridge team understanding across technical studies and client activities.
Key Responsibilities:- Advise navigation and ship handling simulation scenario development
- Translate maritime operations into credible simulation inputs
- Perform qualified Bridge Watchkeeper duties
- Operate ECDIS, Radar/ARPA, AIS, GPS, and bridge systems
- Analyze simulations and report operational findings
- Minimum 10 years ship handling, navigation, or pilotage experience
- Valid STCW-compliant Bridge Watchkeeper Certificate of Competency
- Extensive electronic navigation systems experience
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Understanding of bridge team dynamics
