Shape active transportation and traffic safety projects with the District of Saanich using Civil 3D and practical engineering design skills. Work supports infrastructure residents use daily.
This Engineering Technician II supports operational improvement programs across Saanich’s Transportation and Development Services team. You will contribute to traffic calming, speed management, neighbourhood bikeways, street lighting, and traffic control devices. The position also combines field reviews, transportation analysis, and development application review.
Key Responsibilities:- Support traffic calming and speed management programs
- Assist neighbourhood bikeway and street lighting improvements
- Install and modify traffic control devices
- Evaluate transportation operational and safety concerns
- Provide technical expertise on Traffic Impact Assessments
- Interest in active transportation planning and design
- Working knowledge of transportation design principles
- Knowledge of traffic control devices and road safety practices
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and priorities
