Mental Health RN

Location: Esquimalt (Victoria), BC - Work on a military base

Contract: T4 Contract available at $75 per hour.

Hours: 22.5 hours/week, Monday-Friday, 7:30-4:00 PM, 1 hour lunch break

Work schedule: 12-15 hours/week of direct client care, built in time for admin and team meetings

About the Role

TAPP Workforce Solutions is seeking an experienced Mental Health Nurse to join a multidisciplinary outpatient mental health team in Esquimalt (Victoria), BC
. This role focuses on delivering evidence‑based mental health care to adults, with an emphasis on operational trauma, occupational health, and deployment‑related care.

Duties
:

• Intake, crisis interventions, biopsychosocial assessment, individual therapy, medication monitoring.
• Must use CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Strengths‑Based, or Solution Focused Therapy.

Resume must demonstrate experience and professional development related to these treatment modalities.

Required Qualifications

MUST meet 1/3 education pathways listed:

• Bachelor degree in Nursing from a recognized institution AND one of the following:
  • Post‑graduate Certificate in Mental Health Nursing
  • CNA Certification in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing (CPMHN)
• Bachelor of Science in Psychiatric Nursing (or equivalent)
• Bachelor degree in Nursing from a recognized institution AND a Psychiatric Nursing diploma

Other Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of mental health nursing experience within the last 5 years (No gaps)
• Must have resided in Canada consecutively in the last 5 years (No gaps) in order to pass clearance
• Experience in adult community mental health settings
• Strong skills in psychotherapy, CBT, solution‑focused therapy, and crisis intervention
• Current RN license in Alberta
• BLS or CPR/AED Level C (or willingness to obtain)

INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION CANDIDATES ARE ELIGIBLE - Candidates must provide an education evaluation letter confirming equivalency to a Canadian degree. A copy of this letter will be required during the screening process.
