POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Manager of Community Services, the Better at Home (BAH) Housekeeper provides cleaning services for older adults, helping them remain independent in their homes. The Housekeeper is integral to the Better at Home team, providing housekeeping services for older adults and building one‑on‑one relationships.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Provide light housekeeping services to seniors who are living independently in their own homes. Services may include
- Dusting, vacuuming and mopping floors
- Clean kitchen floors, counters, and sink
- Check and clean the refrigerator
- Bathroom sinks, tubs, showers, counters, toilets, and floors
- Do laundry, make beds, and change bed linens
- Clean windows
- Visits can vary between 1-3 hours
- Call clients the day before an appointment
- Submit brief monthly client reports
- Other duties as required
- Experience cleaning homes
- Experience working with seniors is considered an asset
- Physically able to perform all cleaning tasks listed
- Must have a reliable vehicle
- Class 5 driver's license
- Strong relationship-building skills
- Strong time management skills
- Ability to work independently
- Strong English language skills
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
