Platform Engineer

ITIQ, in partnership with British Columbia Investment (BCI) is seeking an experienced Workday Platform Engineer to join the Technology team. Based in Victoria, BC, the province's capital and one of the most livable cities on Canada's west coast, or in Vancouver, you'll join a Technology team that treats collaboration and continuous improvement as the norm, not the exception.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Service Delivery (HR, Legal, CR&A, Corporate), the Platform Engineer owns the engineering, reliability, and evolution of BCI's Workday platform, building and sustaining integrations, configuring platform capabilities, and ensuring dependable data flow and reporting across HR, Finance, Payroll, and Procurement. The Platform Engineer partners closely with vendors and internal teams to design and support robust integration solutions using modern Workday tooling and API patterns, monitors platform health, and resolves complex issues through root-cause analysis.

The Platform Engineer sets integration architecture standards, mentors engineers, leads the most complex deliverables, and shapes platform strategy in partnership with the Senior Manager, while also working hands-on across mid to high complexity integrations and stakeholder engagements. This role will strengthen platform standards, security, and release readiness.

The Technology department is BCI's innovation catalyst and digital transformation engine, pioneering the future of institutional investment through cutting edge technology solutions, working closely with stakeholders across HR, Finance, Payroll, Procurement, Cyber Security, and Risk.

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or equivalent experience
• Hands-on Workday integration development experience, preferably in a mid-to-large enterprise environment
• Workday security experience including PGP encryption and integration security configuration
• Experience supporting Workday HCM and at least one additional module:
  Financials, Payroll, or Procurement
• Proficiency in Workday integration tools:
  Workday Studio, EIB, Core Connectors, Cloud Connect, and Workday Orchestrate
• Strong technical skills using XSLT (including ETV and XTT), XML, JSON, SOAP, and REST APIs
• Hands-on experience with Workday development including orchestration, PMD scripting, and UI components
• Proficiency in Workday Report Writer including Advanced, Matrix, and Composite reports, calculated fields, and BIRT reporting
• Experience with Agile (Lean, Kanban, or Scrum) and Dev Ops methods and practices
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills; able to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and present solutions to leadership
• Workday integration certification (Integration Core, Studio, and/or Extend) strongly preferred
• Proven experience leading integration architecture decisions and setting team standards
• Experience mentoring engineers and leading technical design reviews
• Track record of leading semi-annual release planning across multiple modules

• Familiarity with Workday Prism Analytics; working knowledge of SQL, data modeling, and ETL concepts
• Experience with Azure or cloud-based integration patterns
• Demonstrated proficiency using AI assistants and/or agentic tools to accelerate Workday configuration, troubleshooting, and automation
• Exposure to the investment management or financial services industry
